Texas singer-songwriter Breelan Angel has released her new radio single, ‘Pocket Change.’ She wrote the up-tempo tune with Texas Country artist Bri Bagwell, and the song was produced by Emmy award winning Ray Barnette.

The press release has more:

In addition to releasing “Pocket Change,” Breelan has announced the appointment of manager David Gilligan of Gilligan Management to her representation team. Effective immediately, Gilligan will oversee booking efforts and day to day activities in the Texas Country market as Breelan continues to build her presence in her home state.

Breelan, who consistently delivers clever lyrics and relatable “girl power” messages in her songwriting, shines on this musical anecdote of a woman who compares being ignored by her partner to spare coins tossed around carelessly. A true country song in both production and content, “Pocket Change” highlights Breelan’s vocal range and provides a deeper look at her traditional and independent style.

“Writing ‘Pocket Change’ with Bri Bagwell, who’s so incredibly talented, was an absolute blast,” Breelan said. “Making the relation between a person and pocket change was pretty easy once we had the idea out on the table. Everyone has loose change lying around their homes, cars, purses and often people drop a coin and never really bother to pick it up. No one wants to be the person who gets tossed to the side or treated in a manner where they don’t matter.”

Originally created with a more subtle approach, Breelan put her own spin on “Pocket Change” during the recording process. Showcasing her trademark sass to really make a statement, Breelan drives the point home with just the right blend of fiddle and guitar while keeping it fun and light enough so that listeners can dance.

“I hope when people hear it they really take this one to heart because no one deserves to be treated like they aren’t important,” she says. “Although it’s written from a female’s point of view, I want it to be a statement for men and women alike that everyone deserves to be cared for and respected in a relationship.”

Breelan’s anthemic radio debut, “It’s My Turn,” sealed her spot as “One To Watch” (CMA Close-up) in country music while the 100-proof ballad “Halfway To Wasted” showed a softer side. A third radio single, “Double Standards,” climbed the charts quickly in Texas and nationally as Breelan celebrated the release of the debut album DIRTY LITTLE SECRETS. Providing a glimpse into the emotional power displayed at her live shows, the album was welcomed by fans and critics who sang its praises with positive reviews and comparisons to native Texans and fellow female artists Miranda Lambert, Lee Ann Womack and Kacey Musgraves. The addition of “Pocket Change” to her repertoire showcases Breelan’s fresh sound and appreciation of true country music.

As a regular performer on the Texas tour circuit, Breelan has supported today’s hottest Texas and national acts including Kevin Fowler, Randy Rogers, Cody Johnson Band, Stoney LaRue, Aaron Watson, Bart Crow Band, Max Stalling, Turnpike Troubadours, JB & The Moonshine Band, Mario Flores, legendary artists Loretta Lynn, Don Williams, Johnny Lee as well as Joe Nichols, Easton Corbin, Randy Houser, Travis Tritt and Doug Stone.

Breelan has played some of Texas finest venues including House of Blues, Firehouse Saloon, Hard Rock Café, and Mucky Duck (Houston), Stafford Centre (Stafford), Rowdy Buck’s (Crosby), Freiheit Country Store and Billy’s Ice House (New Braunfels), The Chute (Baytown), Wormy Dog (Oklahoma City), and Nashville’s famed Bluebird Cafe and National Underground. Special events include Crosby Fair & Rodeo (two times), Lone Star Rally, Galveston County Fair, Whiskey & Wine, Girls With Guitars and Pinktober with KILT and Farmer’s Branch Liberty Fest. A performance at her favorite hometown event, the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo World’s Championship BBQ Cook-off, was a milestone moment for her as was her debut at Nashville’s famed Bluebird Cafe.
