How to Create LoCash Cowboys Fans: Lesson 1

12 years ago Liv Carter 27

Maybe you are already a LoCash Cowboys fan. Maybe you already know that they are the go-to performers if you want to have a good time. Maybe you have known this for years because you were more clued in than I was, or, you arrived at this conclusion via the circuitous route I took. Maybe not all of your friends share your opinion and you would like to get the fault-finders, nay-sayers and fence-sitters on your side.

While I don’t really want to add to the overabundance of how-to articles, I sure can offer some suggestions. Here is the first lesson in ways to turn your friends into new LoCash Cowboys fans.

Well, by ‘first’ I really mean ‘only.’

Because there is just the one lesson: take them to a show!

If they protest, assure them they will have a good time despite any misgivings they may currently hold; bribe them with promises of chocolate or a shoulder rub; without resorting to physical force, do whatever it takes to get them there. You know that Preston, Chris and the guys in the band will take care of the rest.

Because this is what happens when someone who previously didn’t pay all that much attention to them decides to attend a show (Mason City, IA, May 26, 2012). They report back with all the fervor of the newly-converted! Their e-mailed comments:

“Thank you for talking about these guys! I had more fun than I thought possible! When I saw LoCash Cowboys in the line-up for Band Fest here in Mason City, I made plans to go. (Honestly not something I thought I’d do!) But in the last year or so, I had read several interviews and reviews on your Urban Country News site and these guys did sound like amazing artists. I guess it also helped that I was hooked on one of their songs from the first note: ‘You Gonna Fly’ is my favorite song on Keith Urban’s latest album, Get Closer. I was surprised when I found out he didn’t write it, got curious as to who did, and your site provided the info. Seeing the really positive and honest reviews intrigued me!

So, off I went to Band Fest to finally check them out… I read they put on a fun show but still went in skeptical. But ‘You Gonna Fly’ was second on the set list…and I was in heaven!! The whole show was so dynamic and brought lots of unexpected moments. After revving up the crowd with fast-paced songs, to my surprise, I recognized a more tender song,‘Keep In Mind.’ I really LOVED this song!! The show had lots of twists and turns, and I think a rap song was even thrown in for good measure! I didn’t know the words, but you can’t go wrong when you can dance to an awesome BEAT!! I loved how they connected with the crowd, including calling fans up on stage and talking to the people who brought signs (and iPads!). They have so much energy and are so funny!

Another highlight for me was ‘Here Comes Summer.’ How perfect is that?! Memorial Day weekend, perfect summer night and the whole summer to look forward to. ‘C-O-U-N-T-R-Y’ got me yelling at the top of my lungs!! This show left me wanting more LoCash music!! I now TOTALLY agree with the comment in one of the UCN reviews – if you don’t like these guys, it’s only because you haven’t seen their show yet!”

There’s really nothing else I need to add to that. Chris and Preston are simply very good at what they do. Head over to locashcowboys.com to check out the tour dates and start planning your summer roadtrips! If you take new fans, let me know how it goes!

UCN contributor June was also in attendance and sent back some great shots.

I love this! Concert signs, the next generation!
