World-renowned Nashville songwriters venue, The Bluebird Café, will feature alt-country artist Renée Wahl at the Sunday Night Spotlight at 6.30pm on May 27, 2012.

Fully aware of the history of the venue, Wahl is looking forward to her turn in the spotlight. “I’m really excited about getting to play our first full band show at The Bluebird,” she said. “Hopefully this will help cement my foothold in the Nashville music scene. I know many visitors to Nashville make The Bluebird Café a stop on their itinerary, so for those people attending on May 27, I hope I can help make their Bluebird experience memorable!”

After successfully navigating her way through the Bluebird’s intense audition process which includes four writers nights performances, Wahl will now play the hour-long slot; the same route Garth Brooks took on his way to success. Wahl will be backed up by her gifted three-piece band: Roger Prescott (guitar), Dan Seymour (bass), and Herschel Vandyke (drums).

Born and raised in Harrisburg, PA, Renée Wahl returned to music after almost 12 years in the US Air Force. She made the bold decision to move to Nashville to pursue her dream and released her debut CD, Cumberland Moonshine, to critical acclaim in 2011. This year, while working on a follow-up record, Wahl will be touring extensively in the Eastern United States.

Renée Wahl’s Sunday Night Spotlight show will take place on May 27, 2012, at 6.30pm. There is no cover charge but The Bluebird Café (4104 Hillsboro Pike, Nashville, TN 37215) has a $7 food and drinks minimum for seats at the tables, there is no minimum for bar or pew seats.
