It’s been quite an interesting few days for Nashville’s southern rock trio, The Cadillac Black Three…

The trio, Jaren Johnston, Neil Mason and Kelby Ray, got into a spot of trouble over the band’s name which resulted in brainstorming sessions and a name change. The Cadillac Black will from now on be The Cadillac Three.

While that is pretty major news by itself, the guys have a second big announcement to make. The trio is the newest addition to the Big Machine Records roster!

“We’re excited to be a part of the Big Machine Label Group and to have found a team that supports the music we’ve been making and playing across the country. We think it is a match made in ‘country fuzz heaven’ for three guys born and raised in Music City,” said The Cadillac Three via the press release.

“We are thrilled that The Cadillac Three will now call Big Machine their home,” said BMLG President/CEO Scott Borchetta. “Their songs are infectious. Their live show is captivating. We expect many great things to come for these guys.”

So do I, Mr Borchetta. (For example, just throwin’ that out there, touring with Tim McGraw maybe? Please?)

The band saw its profile lifted after appearing on an episode of ABC’s hit TV drama, Nashville, late last year. But most importantly, they have been touring relentlessly, including opening spots for ZZ Top, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Dierks Bentley, Eric Church, and Eli Young Band.

The Cadillac Three will be releasing new music later this year and I already warn UCN readers that we will make a very big fuss when that happens!

If you are in Nashville next week, you can catch The Cadillac Three opening for Eli Young Band at The Stage on Broadway on Thursday, Feb 28.

And in the unlikely event that you read UCN and I haven’t yet talked your ear off about this band, you can get to know them a little better in this interview with Jaren, this CMA Fest live review, and this debut album CD review.
