Singer-songwriter Susan Cattaneo has announced her third album, Little Big Sky, will be shared with the world on August 14, 2012.

More details about the disk are in the press release:

Cattaneo’s previous national recording project, HEAVEN TO HEARTACHE, launched Cattaneo into a class all her own, earning applause and recognition for her ability to mold compelling lyrics, honest storytelling and powerful hooks into unforgettable compositions. LITTLE BIG SKY is no exception with seven remarkable tracks featuring Cattaneo’s unique brand of organic country rock.

Extending her expertise far and beyond the spotlight, Cattaneo shares her talent with others as a songwriting professor at the prestigious and world-renowned Berklee College of Music. Inspiring fellow songwriters and recording artists, Cattaneo draws from her passion to help cultivate the creativity and musical impact of others while continuing her momentum as a career-recording artist.

Capturing memories and life experiences in song, the timelessness of LITTLE BIG SKY today will make an impression for years to come. The first track, “Let The Music Deliver Me,” opens the album with a high-energy love letter to music, addressing its life-changing power and everlasting influence on Cattaneo personally. Throughout the EP, Cattaneo touches on heartbreak, overcoming tragedy, the need for simplicity, unique childhood pastimes and more, sharing her life with the world one song at a time.

The title track, “Little Big Sky,” [Scarlet Keys (formerly of Warner Bros)] and the whimsical tune “Alice In Wonder” (a solo write) address the occasional need to escape the chaos of everyday life, whether through imagination or by packing up and taking to the country road with nothing but miles of sky before you. Featured tracks include “Pennies On The Rail,” a reminiscent song pulling from Cattaneo’s childhood, and the love-struck tunes “A Place Called Love,” [written with Joie Scott (“Not That Different”/Colin Raye)] and “Spare Parts.” Exploring the healing of a rusty, broken-down heart, and the long journey to find love in a town caught “between Heartbreak and Lover’s Lane,” Cattaneo’s music captures with perfection the long and winding road of love filled with triumphs and tribulations, detours and destinations. In the final cut (the inspirational song “Better Day”), Cattaneo pulls from soulful recollections, concentrating on difficult and trying times, and facing life’s unexpected head-on with bravery, hope, will and strength.

Produced by Lorne Entress (Lori McKenna/Ronnie Earl) and Jan Stolpe, LITTLE BIG SKY showcases some of Nashville’s “A-list” players including Glen Duncan (Emmylou Harris/Kenny Chesney/Faith Hill), Kevin Grantt (Brad Paisley/Darryl Worley/Dolly Parton) and Jim “Moose” Brown (Darius Rucker/Josh Turner/Jamey Johnson).

Susan’s current radio single, “Little Big Sky,” is available on iTunes and the CD will be available via all major Internet retail outlets (including iTunes Amazon, Rhapsody, etc.).
