Tin Pan South is a great place to check out songwriters you already know you like, but also to find some you haven’t heard before. On April 2nd, country superstar Tracy Lawrence was joined by singer/songwriter Rick Huckaby,  artist Joanna Smith, and producer/songwriter Flip Anderson (Tracy Lawrence, Marty Stuart) for a 6pm round at the legendary Station Inn.

Lawrence played some of his familiar hits like, ‘If The World Had A Front Porch,’ ‘Find Out Who Your Friends Are,’ and introduced ‘Butterfly,’ a song from his upcoming album, Headlights, Taillights and Radio. Huckaby chimed in with a couple of songs from his recently released album, Pistols & Diamonds, including the title track. He drew possibly the best response of the night with the fantastic ‘In My Room,’ also from the new record. In addition to these, he played the recent radio hit he co-wrote with Thomas Rhett and Lance Miller, ‘Beer With Jesus,’ and his Trace Adkins cut, ‘Muddy Water.’

Long-time Lawrence collaborator Flip Anderson turned in some excellent performances on ‘Love Looks Good On You,’ ‘Where I Used To Live,’ and ‘I’m Good With That’ among a couple others he co-wrote with Huckaby. Up-and-coming artist Joanna Smith previewed a few newer songs, including one she had only just written the day before, and also included her hilarious-because-it’s-true new single ‘Girls Are Crazy.’ Her cheeky humor was a welcome addition to the round (which was hardly serious in the first place!)
