Why It Pays to Put Cover Songs on YouTube – Keith Urban’s #1 Party Performance

Keith Urban fans who were at the final show of the 2008 tour, in Lexington, KY, will remember the shock wave which was sent through the Rupp Arena when Leslie Strong was called up on stage, handed a guitar, and ripped through a solo so perfectly it caused Urban to drop to his knees. I know it will forever be one of my favorite concert memories.

At the recent BMI #1 party for ‘Long Hot Summer,’ Urban invited two fans who had uploaded cover versions of the song to YouTube. Leslie Strong was one of them and it’s great to see she has further developed her six-string talent. Patrick Woolam, lead singer for The Transients (find the band on Twitter) equally impressed the Keith Urban camp and was invited to share vocal duties.
