Tracy Lawrence has won many awards over his career, but the latest one is pretty special. The country singer was given special honors by his own community in Wilson County, TN. From the hands of the Mayor of Wilson County, Randall Hutto, and the Mayor of Lebanon, Philip Craighead, Lawrence received the Wilson Country Humanitarian of the Year Award. In addition, September 25th was proclaimed ‘Tracy Lawrence Day’ in the county.

“I feel very blessed to be the first to receive the Humanitarian Award,” said Tracy Lawrence via the press release. “I hope this will inspire others to the take time, give back and realize that we all can make a difference in the community.”

Hosted by GAC’s Storme Warren, the first Wilson County Humanitarian Award Gala was a sell-out success, and will be an annual event held to recognize county residents who are dedicated to making a difference in the community.

The evening also served as a benefit for New Leash On Life, an organization dedicated to providing care and improving the welfare of stray and abused animals in need.
