The Women’s Music Business Association (WMBA) got into the spirit of giving last night as they held the annual Tunes for Tots, a fundraiser for Toys for Tots. Livening up the occasion at City Winery were some of SESAC’s finest songwriters, but the purpose of the evening was to help provide a memorable Christmas for children across the region.

Tunes for Tots is one of my favorite annual events that WMBA puts on,” says WMBA Events and Education Co-Chair,
Meredith Herberg-Waldron. “I was so honored and excited to be able to help facilitate such an amazing line up of songwriters for such a great cause. Rob, Craig, and Lance together is one of my favorite rounds and we knew having such stand out talent would help raise the most money for the kids! We raised more money and toys for the kids this year than any year in the past, and that just puts a shiny bow on the most fruitful year WMBA has seen to date!”

Thanks to SESAC songwriters Craig Campbell, Lance Miller, and Rob Hatch, we got to enjoy great songs like ‘All American Kid’ (Garth Brooks), ‘If Heaven Wasn’t So Far Away’ (Justin Moore), ‘I Don’t Dance’ (Lee Brice), ‘Beer with Jesus’ (Thomas Rhett), ‘Goodnight Kiss’ (Randy Houser), ‘Friends We Won’t Forget’ (Lee Brice), Craig Campbell’s own ‘Fish,’ and many more hits! As with many rounds, a large part of the entertainment is the banter between the songwriters. And what is always moving to see is the genuine respect they have for each other, and how they celebrate each other’s successes!

The WMBA is a nonprofit membership organization dedicated to fostering opportunities for women within the music industry through education, networking, industry involvement, community service, and organizational fellowship. WMBA was formed in the spring of 2001 by a small group of friends from different areas of the music business. Since that time, it has flourished into what is now the Women’s Music Business Association.
