During CRS 2013, several record labels organized showcases to further introduce their artists to radio industry professionals. It’s impossible to hit them all and it’s a tough choice but on Thursday, February 28, the best party took place at Center Stage. Average Joes Entertainment, in partnership with CMT who livestreamed the event, brought us a fun evening filled with the music of JB and the Moonshine Band, Montgomery Gentry, The LACS, JJ Lawhorn, LoCash Cowboys, and Colt Ford.
JB and the Moonshine Band
This East Texas quartet was for me the revelation of CRS 2013. While I already really liked their sophomore album, Beer for Breakfast, it was proved once again that it’s not until you see a band play live that you find out how good they really are. Check out www.jbandthemoonshineband.com to get to know their music and to find out about future tour dates.
Montgomery Gentry
There is something very impressive about how entertainment veterans command a stage, and when this duo took the stage, everyone paid attention. But even after all these years, there is no such thing as autopilot, and Eddie Montgomery was visibly moved when singing the recent single, ‘I’ll Keep the Kids.’ For more, please visit www.montgomerygentry.com.
The LACS
This Georgia duo, Clay Sharpe and Brian King, is enjoying the results of their hard work over the last few years. They performed an acoustic version of current single, ‘Country Boy Fresh,’ a song that has sold over 100,000 copies and counting. By relentlessly touring, they have built up an impressive following, and if the blend of country and hip-hop is your thing, these are the guys you want to party with!

JJ Lawhorn
Proving there is more than one path to success, Virginia singer-songwriter JJ was discovered on YouTube by producer Jeremy Stover. He continued to use that platform to advance his success and his is first video, ‘Sittin’ on a Tailgate,’ amassed over 250,000 views on the video-sharing website. He gave a confident acoustic performance and you can find out more about him via www.jjlawhorn.com.
LoCash Cowboys
After some label drama, and a lot of hard work, this dynamic duo has come home to Average Joes. They presented songs from their upcoming album, showing versatility, from the light-hearted fun of ‘Lovedrunk,’ to the meaningful ‘Best Seat in the House.’ If you want to be guaranteed fun at a live show, go find the nearest tour date at www.locashcowboys.com.
Colt Ford
The label’s flagship artist closed out the night with his signature country-rap blend. He had the whole venue rocking out to his set which included breakthrough hit ‘Chicken and Biscuits,’ and his smash-hit #1 Jason Aldean cut, ‘Dirt Road Anthem.’ For all the lastest news and tour dates, visit www.coltford.com.
