Blake Shelton and Florida Georgia Line Best Selling Country Artists in Q2 of 2013

The second quarter sales figures for 2013 show a significant rise compared to the same period in 2012, especially when it comes to song downloads. Four songs cleared the one million threshold, and Florida Georgia Line‘s ‘Cruise’ was the spectacular outlier with almost 2.5 million downloads sold. Also highlighted is the selling power of Luke Bryan and Hunter Hayes. Their songs, ‘Crash My Party’ and ‘I Want Crazy,’ clocked up their over 800k sales in less than three months. We can expect both songs to clear one million too in the next few weeks.
Album sales went up again too, making country pretty much the only music genre where those numbers are increasing. Blake Shelton‘s latest release, Based on a True Story…, is the clear front-runner. The record outsold The Band Perry‘s Pioneer by almost 150k units, in no small part thanks to Shelton’s TV exposure on The Voice.
