BMG Chrysalis Nashville has announced Jay DeMarcus, of Rascal Flatts, has joined the company’s songwriters roster. DeMarcus signed a worldwide publishing agreement with BMG last week.
Kos Weaver, EVP of BMG Chrysalis Nashville, commented via a press release: “With his high caliber of talent and numerous accomplishments, we are fortunate to welcome Jay to the BMG family. In addition to being an insanely gifted writer, musician and producer he is also an overall great guy.”
“I am so excited to join BMG,” DeMarcus added. “They have assembled an incredible team of people and I’m looking forward to working with each one of them; their passion for music and songwriting truly inspires me.”
Known by many for his bass playing and harmonies with Rascal Flatts, De Marcus has racked up a good number of songwriting credits, and has been very successful as a producer. He has overseen projects by Michael English, James Otto, Jason Crabb, Jo Dee Messina and others, and he produced the 2006 release, Chicago XXX, for the legendary band Chicago. He has been nominated for multiple Grammy awards, including three for Gospel Album of the Year as well as six Dove Award nominations, including Producer of the Year.

She holds several certificates from Berklee College of Music, and a certificate in Positive Psychology from UC Berkeley.
Her main influences are coffee, cats, and Alexander Hamilton.
