One of the most blatantly manufactured #1 hits in recent memory, Daughtry, sorry, I mean Parmalee‘s ‘Carolina,’ tops this week’s Mediabase Country Singles Chart.
Eric Paslay finally gets a break and his ‘Friday Night’ rolls into the top 10!
Also worthy of note is that with Eli Young Band (#4), Taylor Swift (#5), Florida Georgia Line (#7), and The Band Perry (#8) 40% of the country singles top 10 belongs to artists from the Big Machine Label Group. Just in case you had any doubt as to who is running the show here these days…
Mediabase Country Singles Chart (December 09, 2013):
1. ‘Carolina’ – Parmalee
2. ‘Sunny and 75’ – Joe Nichols
3. ‘We Were Us’ – Keith Urban feat. Miranda Lambert
4. ‘Drunk Last Night’ – Eli Young Band
5. ‘Red’ – Taylor Swift
6. ‘Radio’ – Darius Rucker
7. ‘Stay’ – Florida Georgia Line
8. ‘Don’t Let Me Be Lonely’ – The Band Perry
9. ‘Sweet Annie’ – Zac Brown Band
10. ‘Friday Night’ – Eric Paslay
