Every time I hear a cynical comment about how Nashville doesn’t produce any “real music” anymore, I laugh.
Because sure it does.
It may not be conveniently discoverable on your local corporate commercial station (and since when was that the standard anyway?), so you may have to do some discovering on your own, but it is always worth the effort.
So, if you lean towards the cynical side, meet Christian Lopez!
The 19-year-old West Virginia native has distilled all the music he grew up with into his own unique sound – part roots rock, part folk pop, part jam band. Add his strong vocals and engaging storytelling, and this is definitely an artist to add to your playlist.
Lopez worked with top producer Dave Cobb on his debut EP, Pilot, disproving those cynical claims.
