LRM Interviews – Zane Williams: “Music should be an honest reflection of who you are.”

Country singer-songwriter Zane Williams is celebrating the release of his new album, Texas Like That. He co-produced the record with Tom Faulkner, and penned every song.
While “authentic” is a label which is widely overused in music reviews, in this album’s case it is entirely apt. With minimal studio intervention, Texas Like That is refreshingly free of effects and polish; the songs have room to breathe. This approach allows the songwriting to take center stage, with some lyrical gems waiting to be discovered.
The press material summed Zane and his music up in five key concepts: authenticity, self-reliance, hard work, camaraderie, gratitude. These form the heart of the interview below, which starts out by discussing his approach to the making of Texas Like That.
