If you’ve been meaning to de-clutter your closet, or are looking for a bargain on great clothes, while also helping one of the most amazing organizations in the country, keep reading the press release below to find out out you can help St Jude’s Childrens Research Hospital!
Crazy Pitches, a group of Nashville music publishers consisting of Chelsea Kent of Still Working Music, Hannah Showmaker of Parallel Entertainment, Ciara Gardner of Disney Music Publishing, and Sarah Feldman of Writer’s Den Music Group, has set September 10, 2015 as the date for the inaugural
Dress Up for St. Jude event. The special evening will showcase an array of new and gently used high-end fashion just in time for fall award shows, holidays and more with 100 percent of the proceeds being donated to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital® for their music therapy program.
The idea for the fundraiser came after the Crazy Pitches ladies visited St. Jude in Memphis earlier this year, where they learned more about the hospital’s lifesaving work and mission of finding cures and saving children. Events like Dress Up for St. Jude help ensure that families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food – because all a family should worry about is helping their child live.
“The trip really put on our hearts to come up with a way to give back to this great organization,” said Ciara Gardner. “St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is extremely close to Music Row’s heart, and it’s easy to see why.”
Dress Up for St. Jude organizers are asking artists and other music industry executives to clear out their closets, and donate the following gently used items:
* Dresses from past awards shows or other formal events
* Jewelry
* Shoes
* Mannequins
* Hanging racks
* Hangers
* Other accessories
The items will be sold at a fraction of the original prices at the September 10 event, which will be held at Still Working Music Group, 1625 Broadway in Nashville.
Donations will go directly to the St. Jude music therapy program, which helps patients attain emotional goals, such as learning to express themselves by writing and performing songs and discussing song lyrics. Creativity also helps patients cope with disease and its treatment. A clinical and evidence-based practice, music therapy can be used to achieve both musical and non-musical goals.
Crazy Pitches has set the following official drop-off dates, and anyone wishing to donate outside of these dates can contact crazypitches1@gmail.com to schedule an alternate pick up or drop off.
