Elvis Is Back! Legacy Edition – Elvis Presley

To be released on March 8, 2011 in both digital and physical formats, ‘Elvis is Back! Legacy Edition’ is a deluxe double-set cd comprised of 36 songs from Elvis Presley’s albums of 1960 (Elvis is Back) and 1961 (Something for Everybody). The sets include 12 hit singles recorded in Nashville when Elvin began work on his 1960 album a little more than 2 after coming home from a 2 year stint in the U.S. Army. Refreshed and rejuvenated, he finished that album in less than 1 month’s time. Just about 1 year later, he completed his 1961 album. The result of this current compilation …. brilliant! Fantastic sound, background vocals and pure, emotive vocals from The King, himself.

Just a few songs into the cd, one had the sensation of jumping into the car with the top down and driving aimlessly on back country roads, with the wind caressing your face. The flow of the songs set the stage for a perfect Spring day, with toes tapping on the dash, while whistling, humming and singing into the wind and waving your friends on into the car with you. You don’t have to grow up on Elvis to have a fine appreciation and feel the joy that his music can bring. That’s Elvis!
Of course, for a quiet (romantic) evening at home, the first several songs off of disc 2, ‘There’s Always Me,’ ‘Give Me The Right,’ ‘It’s A Sin,’ ‘Sentimental Me,’ ‘Starting Today,’ set the mood for a cozy evening for two … That’s also Elvis! It is interesting to note, that nearly every single song in this deluxe cd set is about women and love.
