Cassadee Pope Claims Second #1 with ‘The Voice’ Cover of ‘Stupid Boy’

My dislike of “reality” talent-contest TV shows is only increasing season by season. The Voice winner Cassadee Pope repeats her Billboard Country Digital Songs Chart #1 debut from a few weeks ago, this time with a cover of ‘Stupid Boy.’ She has a pop-punk background and sounds remarkably similar to Avril Lavigne, so she’s aiming for country radio. Naturally.
Another product of the show, teenage singer RaeLynn, has released her debut single, ‘Boyfriend,’ which enters the chart at #10.
Billboard Country Digital Songs Chart (December 24, 2012):
1. ‘Stupid Boy’ – Cassadee Pope
2. ‘Cruise’ – Florida Georgia Line
3. ‘Better Dig Two’ – The Band Perry
4. ‘Wanted’ – Hunter Hayes
5. ‘Every Storm (Runs Out of Rain)’ – Gary Allan
6. ‘We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together’ – Taylor Swift
7. ‘Tornado’ – Little Big Town
8. ‘The Only Way I Know’ – Jason Aldean w/ Luke Bryan and Eric Church
9. ‘Blown Away’ – Carrie Underwood
10. ‘Boyfriend’ – RaeLynn
