During CMA Fest, country music stars make lots of time to give back to their fans and to some very worthy good causes. An annual tradition is the City of Hope Celebrity Softball Game raising awareness of and funds for the tremendous work of the City of Hope hospital and research center.
For over 100 years, City of Hope’s pioneering research has increased knowledge of many life-threatening diseases such as cancer, diabetes and HIV/AIDS. Their work has helped with prevention and with developing better treatments, and has saved and improved the lives of thousands of patients. The truly amazing part is that City of Hope is a not-for-profit organization. Please visit www.cityofhope.org for more information. You can help by becoming a citizen of City of Hope, find out how at www.cityofhope.org/giving.
On Saturday, June 8, country music stars and celebrities from the worlds of radio, TV and sports lines up in two teams, Team After Midnight and Team Grand Ole Opry, to battle it out on the field of Nashville Sounds’ Green Stadium.
After an entertaining and hard-fought, yet good-natured, game Team Opry emerged victorious!
Check out photos from the action-packed morning!
