George Jones Final Nashville Concert to Be Turned into Tribute Show

The organizers of what would have been George Jones‘ final performance on November 22 at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville have announced the show will go ahead as a tribute. The show has already sold out and ticket holders can use their already purchased tickets.
Performers who were set to appear are being contacted to confirm for the tribute, and while I can’t imagine anyone backing out, it might mean even more stars will be present to honor the music and life of George Jones.
“Everyone has been asking if we will still do the show,” says George’s widow, Nancy Jones. “I have asked Garth [Brooks], Kid Rock, Travis Tritt, The Oak Ridge Boys, Montgomery Gentry, Sam Moore, Charlie Daniels, Jamey Johnson and others and they all said ‘yes, I am still going to do it’ so with all the artists still planning on coming, we are going to honor George one final time.”
