Well, hasn’t this been a long time coming! Country music quartet Little Big Town has, after 13 radio singles, finally reached the #1 spot. The group’s latest single, ‘Pontoon,’ tops the Billboard Country Digital Songs Chart, which is compiled by Nielsen SoundScan from digital download sales figures. In other words, it’s the country music fans who made this a #1 hit, not the radio programmers. Congratulations to songwriters Barry Dean, Natalie Hemby and Luke Laird, to Little Big Town, and well done to their fans!
Tim McGraw‘s ‘Truck Yeah’ makes a massive debut on this chart this week and comes leaping into the Top 10 at #6. Also worthy of note are the continued high scores for Eric Church‘s ‘Springsteen,’ at #4, and Hunter Hayes‘ ‘Wanted,’ at #5.
