Live from CMA Fest 2012: Eric Paslay

When Eric Paslay included the song ‘Deep as it Is Wide’ in his set yesterday, June 8, on the Bud Light stage outside the Bridgestone Arena during CMA Fest 2012, I remarked to the lady next to me that however many artists were performing that day, no one was going to play a song that was better than this one. Paslay has a tremendous catalogue of contemporary country songs which includes, along with well-written future radio hits, a few absolutely magnificent pieces of art, like the song I just mentioned.
At one of his acoustic performances, you go to quietly enjoy the songs, but when he fires up his talented 3-piece band, you dance, you groove, you rock out! There was plenty of opportunity to do just that, especially during his Top 40 debut hit, ‘Never Really Wanted.’
And you know, that thing about no one playing a better song that day? I spoke too soon then, as Eric topped it himself by ending his set with ‘Less than Whole.’
Keep an eye on www.ericpaslay.com for tourdates and the latest new music.
Check out his current single, ‘If the Fish Don’t Bite,’ and some shots from the show.
