Zac Brown Band will follow up their recent #1 hit, ‘As She’s Walking Away,’ with piano ballad ‘Colder Weather.’ The tune was penned by Zac Brown, Coy Bowles, Wyatt Durrette and Levi Lowrey.
After the fiddle and steel, this piano song makes a nice change but still features what put Zac Brown Band on the map – impeccable harmonies. The story they are telling of a restless soul who leaves his girl for the open road suits these guys well especially as it doesn’t turn into melodrama; the girl understands:
She said you’re a ramblin’ man
You ain’t ever gonna change
You gotta gypsy soul to blame
And you were born for leavin’
‘Colder Weather’ soars in the bridge but the reliance on piano rather than the often overused wailing guitars keeps the song from being overblown. It’s a slight departure from the sound of previous singles but still undeniably Zac Brown Band. This is going to be another #1 hit!
