Songwriter Adam Wright is the newest highly-talented addition to the Carnival Music roster.
Read about his new deal and GRAMMY® Award nomination in the press release below:
Prolific songwriter, Adam Wright, has started off 2013 on the right foot. He recently signed with Carnival Music after gaining the attention of Carnival principal, Frank Liddell. “Adam is highly regarded as a talented songwriter, artist and multi-instrumentalist,” said Liddell. “He has been working with other Carnival writers for a while, so it makes perfect sense that he is now a member of the family. He is going to make great music for many years and we are excited he will be making it at Carnival.” Wright seconds that sentiment saying, “I’m thrilled to be a part of the creative atmosphere that Carnival has built. Frank and the staff are constantly searching for something no one has heard yet. He pushes you to dig deeper and it’s really inspiring.”
Adding to the excitement, Wright’s emotional ballad (co-written by Jay Knowles), “So You Don’t Have to Love Me Anymore,” recorded by Alan Jackson, has earned him a GRAMMY® Award nomination for “Best Country Song.” “The first time I heard Alan sing it, it really put tears in my eyes and not just because I was hearing someone doing our song,” Wright says. “It was the emotion of having an experienced singer who could convey it…whose heart was connected with his voice. It hurt in ways that a song is supposed to hurt. The fact that he can do that is part of why he’s been so successful – there just aren’t many people on earth who can do that.”
Wright will perform as part of the ‘Carnival Music Presents’ series at The Basement on Wednesday, January 30, 2013 to showcase recent material. He also has a new self-titled EP available January 29 at all major digital retailers.
Adam Wright has proven to be an accomplished and unique artist in his own right. He and his wife, Shannon, comprise the harmonious duo, The Wrights, and have recorded four creatively diverse albums over the past 10 years, including Down This Road (2005, RCA Records), The Wrights (2007, Alan’s Country Records), In the Summertime (2008, TOUR) and Red and Yellow, Blue and Green (2010, TOUR).
