Billboard has changed up (and as far as I can see, messed up) the way the “official” country music #1 song will be determined, basing the new chart on airplay as well as sales. This chart update will continue to solely look at the airplay figures, so think of this as the old-school chart. The new Hot Country Songs chart will be updated on Thursdays.
Carrie Underwood reaches #1 with ‘Blown Away’ after 18 weeks on the air. Lee Brice leaps over several competitors to #2 with ‘Hard to Love.’ New in the Top 10 this week are ‘Come Wake Me Up’ by Rascal Flatts, at #9, and Tim McGraw‘s ‘Truck Yeah,’ at #10.
Billboard Country Airplay Chart (October 15, 2012):
1. ‘Blown Away’ – Carrie Underwood
2. ‘Hard to Love’ – Lee Brice
3. ‘Cowboys and Angels’ – Dustin Lynch
4. ‘Take a Little Ride’ – Jason Aldean
5. ‘Lovin’ You Is Fun’ – Easton Corbin
6. ‘Kiss Tomorrow Goodbye’ – Luke Bryan
7. ‘The One that Got Away’ – Jake Owen
8. ‘Fastest Girl in Town’ – Miranda Lambert
9. ‘Come Wake Me Up’ – Rascal Flatts
10. ‘Truck Yeah’ – Tim McGraw
