With three songs in the year-end top 10, 2013 was undeniably the year of Imagine Dragons on the Rock Songs Chart, with ‘Radioactive’ leading the pack. A fairly wide definition of “rock” allows The Lumineers to snatch the #2 spot, while breakout act Lorde lands at #3.

I don’t particularly consider Mumford & SonsBabel to be a straight-up rock album but the re-emergence of folk-rock sees the British band top the year-end Rock Albums Chart. Even though it was released way back in 2011, Ed Sheeran‘s + album got a huge boost this year from his inclusion on Taylor Swift‘s Red World Tour, and the disc ends the year at #8.

With his celebration of rape culture, Robin Thicke leads the year-end Pop Songs Chart with ‘Blurred Lines.’ Let’s hope it is never heard from again in 2014. Taylor Swift‘s dub-step hit, ‘I Knew You Were Trouble,’ finishes at #3 and seems to cement her transition to pop artist.
