Award-Winning Independent Web Drama ‘Big Country Blues’ Premiers on Blip.tv

Singer-songwriter Jeremy McComb has been starring in the web drama series, Big Country Blues. Now the show will be brought to even more fans as it has been picked up by Blip TV.

Blip TV, the largest independently owned video network in the world, will offer the premier of the award-winning independent web drama, “Big Country Blues.” The 5-part series will debut on Monday Oct. 22nd.
“Big Country Blues,” starring Country singer/songwriter Jeremy McComb and Sarah e Jacobs, tells the story of a down and out rail yard worker (“Grayson Ricker”) with a broken home and big dreams, who is convinced to travel to Nashville, by his loving girlfriend and big-talking best friend, for a chance at stardom via a reality TV show. Together, the three embark on a journey through Music City USA where “Grayson” experiences joy, betrayal and heartache that make up his songs.
The web drama has already brought home several awards and nominations including the award for “Best Drama” at the ITVfest and IFQ film & New Media Festivals. It was an official honoree at the 2011 Webby Awards, won top prize at the 2011 Telly Awards for Drama and Music and previewed at the Cannes Film Festival as an Official Selection of the Marseille Webfest.
Lead actor, McCombOVER records artist, Jeremy McComb, recieved a “Best Actor” award from ITVfest in Los Angeles where other nominations included “Best Directing” and “Best Actress.”
The series was written by Brian A. Ross, whose writing and producing credits include projects for NBC, USA, MTV and VH1’s Best Week Ever. Directing the film with Ross, as well as producing, is Jonathan Rippon. Cinematographer for the series is David A. Erickson.
With over 300 million views per month, Blip distributes series across the web, including to Facebook, Twitter and YouTube, to iTunes and to the TV set through partnerships with Roku and Google TV.
