Country heart-throb of the nineties, Bryan White, has begun production on a new album and this time, he’s doing things his way.

In the 1990’s Bryan enjoyed much success in the country music industry. He has five studio albums and three EP’s under his belt, and seventeen singles that were released to country radio, with four of them reaching number one (‘Someone Else’s Star’ [1995], ‘Rebecca Lynn’ [1995], ‘So Much For Pretending’ [1996], ‘Sittin’ On Go’ [1997]). He also had a popular duet with Shania Twain, ‘From This Moment On’ that reached number six on charts in the U.S.

Along with his album and single success, Bryan also released thirteen music videos, and won the ACM’s 1995 Top New Male Vocalist, and in 1996 and 1997 won the ACM Top Male Vocalist and CMA Male Vocalist of the Year.

In September 2012, Bryan partnered with Kickstarter, the world’s largest funding platform for creative projects, where he reached out to fans and long-time supporters. Through Kickstarter, he announced that he was going to begin a new album, and that it would be done without the support of a label, which is why Kickstarter came into the picture. A time-frame of one month was set to raise funds for his album. Beginning on September 24th fans, friends and supporters began visiting Kickstarter.com to donate money to the project. Supporters could choose from 14 different donation levels, each one offering incentives from a digital download of the album, to an autographed photo, to an autographed copy of the album, all the way up to a 75 minute concert with a meet and greet. By the October 24th deadline, Bryan had exceeded his $30,000 goal for the project, with 408 supporters.

When the project began, Bryan wrote in a letter to supporters:

I’ve recorded many albums under the umbrella of labels. While very grateful, I am also excited to be into a new chapter of my life. Somewhere free from someone looking over my shoulder during my creative and most vulnerable process. I am proud to announce to my fans about my 1st Kickstarter project! I’m thrilled to be finally making a record that they too can be involved in! Really involved in! I am asked every day…. Literally every day, “Where have you been? Where did you go? When are you gonna make new music?” Well, here’s the answer… My goal with this record, is to find the “Inner-kid” again. To approach this new music letting God lead and getting completely out of the way of the music that wants to happen. While that will be a major challenge for me, as I have been through much hardship, in the area of being hyper-critical of myself, regarding singing, and my music, I believe it’s possible! I gladly accept the challenge!! The funds raised will help us to pay musicians, engineers, the studios, and everything else that goes into it. Anything exceeding our budget will be used for promotion and whatever else it takes to get this record off the ground and out to the four corners of the world! I am humbled at your support and am stirred to think of what this process might be like and just what may come out of it!
Thank you so much,
Bryan

The album, which began production last week, will be recorded in his personal studio, Shmowland, (fans of Bryan know that he is a long-time fan of the Three Stooges), and will be recorded on analog tape, like his first three albums were.

The musicians joining Bryan on this album are Steven Mackey (Bass), Tommy Perkinson (Drums), Jessie Isley (Guitars), and John Henry Trinko.

Bryan plans to keep fans and supporters of the new project updated on its progress through his kickstarter page, as well as through Twitter and Facebook. Bryan is scheduled to set sail with Kenny Rogers, Vince Gill and others for the first ever Country Music Cruise in early 2014
