A few days away from Halloween, it was time to break out the costumes and start the fun. I have said this before, but if you want to ensure your party crowd has a good time, call Ghostbusters LoCash Cowboys!

Chris Lucas and Preston Brust entertained at The Judge’s Vinegarroon; a cozy venue on Nashville’s Church Street which boasts a fantastic Texas-style BBQ menu (I recommend the spicy chicken wings!) and the friendliest staff in town.

Joined by bass player Jason Duggins and drummer David Parks, their #1 Keith Urban hit, ‘You Gonna Fly,’ launched an up-tempo acoustic set slowed down only for an impressive version of ‘Purple Rain.’

With songs titled ‘Bumpin’ Tailgates’ and ‘C.O.U.N.T.R.Y.,’ you may be tempted to pigeonhole this music but you underestimate this duo at your own risk. The new songs are going to catch a lot of people by surprise. And when you can introduce a song (‘Truck Yeah’) as “this was just a Top 10 hit for Tim McGraw,” you know you’re on the right path. Add in other standouts like ‘You Make it Look Good,’ ‘Bounce,’ and especially ‘Do it Up Right,’ and you have a well-crafted party mix.

Having gone from, well, let’s describe me as a ‘LoCash skeptic,’ to becoming totally convinced of their talent, I have seen no one read a room like them. Having sussed out their audience was up for something a little off the beaten, a Boys II Men medley (‘End of the Road,’ ‘Water Runs Dry,’ ‘Motown Philly’) helped populate the dancefloor while impressing with some exquisite harmonies.

Keep an eye on www.locashcowboys.com for future tour dates and then tell them via Twitter (@locashcowboys) how much fun you had at the show!
