Compared to just a few years ago, the numbers are still on the low side but there is once again an upward trend in country music sales figures. With data from Nielsen Soundscan, Billboard compiled the best-selling albums and digital singles for the first quarter of 2013. It’s encouraging to see this uptick continue after the 2012 figures far outdid the 2011 numbers. Taylor Swift‘s Red leads the album list, and Blake Shelton‘s previous single, ‘Sure Be Cool if You Did,’ heads up the single sales.
