Country singer-songwriter JJ Lawhorn will release his Average Joes Entertainment debut album, ‘Original Good Ol’ Boy,’ on July 16, 2013. Produced by Jeremy Stover, the new album will stream exclusively on iHeartRadio/Clear Channel July 15-19 and is available for pre-order today on iTunes. For more, please visit www.jjlawhorn.com.

Named one of Billboard Magazine’s “New and Noteworthy Acts — Billboard Presents Bubbling Under,” Lawhorn’s first single, “Stomping Grounds,” is already a staple on Sirius/XM’s popular, The Highway channel. The video for “Stomping Grounds” can be seen on GACTV.com, Zuus Country TV, The Boot.com and more.

“My life took a turn when I put a video of me singing a cover song on YouTube and one of my favorite country singer’s producer saw it and contacted me,” states Lawhorn. “Now I’m about to release my debut album with Average Joes. I don’t think I could have asked for anything better.”

“Ultimately, it’s the whole package – the rough-edged music, the painterly words and Lawhorn’s conviction – that makes this a most auspicious debut.” – Bob Doerschuk, CMA Close Up

This stellar, debut disc is a perfect blend of sweet melody and raw sound influenced by some of the industry’s greatest rebels (Hank Williams, Waylon Jennings). Lawhorn wrote or co-wrote every song on the disc with contributions from some of Nashville’s finest writers. From the auto-biographical title track, “Original Good Ol’ Boy,” to the extraordinarily evocative “Last of a Dyin’ Breed,” Lawhorn’s songwriting reflects an authenticity that will surely become his signature sound.
