It seems that every music festival has one total breakout act. At CMA Fest this year, it was Nashville’s newest country-rock trio who created the biggest buzz. After having delivered a truly spectacular club performance on Friday night, on Sunday afternoon, June 10, The Cadillac Black stepped onto the Hard Rock Café stage…and blew the place apart!

The trio, comprised of Jaren Johnston, Neil Mason and Kelby Ray, has a fresh take on southern rock (CD review here) and the audience loved every single second of it. Their half-hour set was packed full of energy and it was a pleasure to watch the crowd be won over and end the day as new Cadillac Black fans. And how could they have resisted these guys? The songs by themselves, with irresistible grooves and genius choruses, are enough to hook you already, but when you see the trio’s live performance, it all goes to another level entirely. After the set, the host of the Hard Rock Café stage was almost left speechless as she tried to recover from what she had just experienced. Many in the crowd felt the same way! I do not have enough superlatives to accurately describe this performance and highly recommend everyone go check out one of the best new rockbands around.

Head over to www.thecadillacblack.com to pick up a copy of their debut record, and find out about upcoming tour dates.

Check out the performance of ‘Back It Up’ and some pictures from the show.
