The Delta Saints played to a (adopted) hometown crowd yesterday, August 22, at Lightning 100’s Live on the Green concert series. The Nashville-based quintet brought their hardrocking bayou blues to the gathered music lovers enjoying this late summer’s night free entertainment.

The band recently returned from the successful European stretch of their tour in support of new album, Death Letter Jubilee, and is comprised of singer/dobro player Ben Ringel, Dylan Fitch on guitar, David Supica on bass, and Ben Azzi on drums. While fifth band member Stephen Hanner takes a break for health reasons, on this tour the band is joined by Nate Kremer on keys. It didn’t take long for their swampy rock to transform Nashville’s Public Square into a giant party. By the time they got to the title track of the new album, with a booming chorus of “and I’m gonna dance, and I’m gonna sing,” the crowd was doing exactly that, and didn’t stop until the last note had faded away.

The Delta Saints previously impressed me with a short set at Music City Roots, where they nearly lifted the roof off the Loveless Barn. Add these guys to your must-see concert list!
