As a part of the United Nations Day celebration on October 23rd, Marlee Scott will be performing in Nashville’s Centennial Park. The celebration will benefit the global Girl Up Campaign.

Presented by the Nashville Cordell Hull Chapter of UNA-USA, United Nations Day runs from 2-4 p.m. at the Parthenon inside Centennial Park on West End Ave. Doors open at 1:30 p.m. United Nations Day activities include a presentation by the UN Foundation’s Melissa Hillebrenner, deputy director of Girl Up, and performances from Scott, the HAYAIA West African Dance Troupe and the Actors Bridge Ensemble: Act Like a GRRRL. Scott will perform her current Country radio single, ‘Beautiful Maybe.’

“Having the freedom to make my own decisions and choices regarding my life and career has always been important to me,” says Scott. “I would stand behind anything that gives young girls the opportunities that I have been blessed with throughout my life as a young girl and woman.”

Girl Up is an innovative campaign of the United Nations Foundation. The organization gives American girls the opportunity to become global leaders and channel their energy and compassion to raise awareness and funds for programs of the United Nations that help some of the world’s hardest-to-reach adolescent girls. The Girl Up campaign was established to address the needs of adolescent girls in developing countries. It mobilizes American girls to raise awareness and funds for programs of the United Nations that help some of the world’s hardest-to-reach adolescent girls.

Scott’s current single, “Beautiful Maybe,” continues to climb up the Billboard Country Indicator chart.
