After internal votes and a music fan poll, the Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Fame Class of 2014 has been announced!
Iconic Seattle rockband Nirvana are perhaps a surprise inductee but the trio helped change music forever at the very end of the 1980s. KISS were the biggest band on the planet at one time and for many people, the exclusion of KISS was an unforgivable oversight. It is a wrong that will be righted during the induction ceremony on April 10, 2014 in Brooklyn.
Also finally joining the Hall is the E Street Band, Bruce Springsteen‘s road band which wasn’t inducted along with him in 1999. The Band will be honored with the Award in Music Excellence.
Completing the Class of 2014 are Peter Gabriel, Daryl Hall & John Oates, and Cat Stevens.
In addition to the performers, Beatles manager Brian Epstein, and Rolling Stones manager and producer Andrew Loog Oldham, will both receive a Ahmet Ertegun Awards.
It was way past time for KISS to be inducted, but still no Deep Purple? Really??
