Many country artists will list Randy Travis among their influences. On his new album, Influence Vol. 1: The Man I Am, Travis himself looks back at the artists who inspired him. With songs originally performed by icons including Merle Haggard, George Jones, Bing Crosby, Willie Nelson, Ernest Tubb, Louis Armstrong, and Waylon Jennings, he traces back his earliest inspirations.

“When I think of my musical heroes of yesteryear, or the younger stars of this year, I am reminded that it is true we learn from the ones ahead of us, and teach the ones that follow. They are the reason I chose to make this album,” Travis said via a press release.
