Hosted by Trace Adkins and Kristin Chenoweth, the American Country Awards is a fan voted awards show—although I’m not sure how they can call it fan voted with Taylor Swift has never won a single award?– with categories including Group of the Year, New Artist of the Year, Breakthrough Artist of the Year, Touring Artist of the Year, Female artist of the Year, Single of the Year by a Female Artist, Music Video by a Group, Artist of the Year and others.

This year’s awards show again took place in Las Vegas, NV, at Mandalay Bay. Among the presentation of awards, which were guitars handed out to each winner; there were live performances from many of country music’s favorite artists.

A few stand out performances of the night included the nights co-host Trace Adkins performing “What’s Your Name” with Lynyrd Skynyrd, Keith Urban performing with Grammy Camp-a group of extremely talented, young musicians, Kristin Chenoweth performing “What Would Dolly Do”, and capping off the night was Lady Antebellum singing “Baby Come Home” off of their On This Christmas Night album. They were joined on stage by the nights co-hosts in costume-Kristin dressed as a sexy Santa and Trace dressed as what Kristin called a Viking Elf, who wore each costume was determined by viewers on twitter using #KristinSanta or #TraceSanta. Trace of course was hoping for Santa, but the viewer’s won out when they put him in an elf
costume.
