If, like me, you are interested in music history, there is great news. Rolling Stone, the industry’s foremost publication, is opening up its archives by adding the ‘Artist Timelines’ feature to the magazine’s website. Already completed for Bruce Springsteen, each page will house every article published for an artist in Rolling Stone. Much of this content was previously only available to paid subscribers.

Presented in reverse chronological order, the Timelines includes every single article, cover, and review ever published by Rolling Stone about the artist, as well as what lists they’ve been included on, and all of their photo galleries and videos from the website. The Timelines also feature a playlist of the artist’s music, as selected by the editors of Rolling Stone.

Already planned to join Springsteen’s page over the coming months will be Timelines on Green Day, the Rolling Stones, Taylor Swift, Bob Dylan, and Lady Gaga.

“Artist Timelines introduce music’s greatest icons to new audiences and inspire superfans to rediscover their favorite artists’ career-defining moments in Rolling Stone,” says David Kang, Chief Digital Officer of Wenner Media, the publisher of Rolling Stone. “Timeline marks an important milestone for Rolling Stone, bringing 40-plus years of world-class content into a state-of-the-art interactive experience across multiple platforms for fans, communities, and sponsors alike.”

Bruce Springsteen’s Artist Timeline is online at www.rollingstone.com/music/artists/bruce-springsteen. The other Timelines will be available at www.rollingstone.com/music/artists.

Now I am just waiting for the James Taylor page to be added!
