All throughout his decades-long career, Tracy Lawrence has made time to give back. It is for his charitable work that the singer is now being recognized by the Mayors of Lebanon, TN, and Wilson County. They have proclaimed September 25, 2012, as ‘Tracy Lawrence Day’ across Wilson County.

Tracy will also be honored during the Wilson County Humanitarian Award Gala that evening, and you can find out more about that in the press release below:

Tracy Lawrence was pleasantly surprised recently (8/6) as community members gathered at a luncheon to announce that the hometown Mayors of Lebanon and Wilson County will proclaim September 25th as “Tracy Lawrence Day” in Wilson County.

As a tribute to the Lawrence’s philanthropy and charitable work, the group announced that the singer would be the recipient of a Humanitarian Award during the Wilson County Humanitarian Award Gala, an inaugural day celebration honoring Lawrence on September 25, 2012 at Legacy Farms in Lebanon, TN.

“Tracy has such a giving spirit,” said Philip Craighead, Mayor of Lebanon, TN. “He serves as an inspiration not only to others, but the community as a whole. He has stepped up to the plate to help those in need, time and time again. His involvement with various local charities in Lebanon and throughout Tennessee, prove him deserving of being designated as the Wilson County Humanitarian. It is with utmost respect that we proclaim September 25, 2012 as “Tracy Lawrence Day” in Wilson County.”

The Wilson County Humanitarian Award Gala will be open to the public, benefiting “New Leash On Life,” an organization dedicated to providing care and improving the welfare of stray and abused animals in need. The evening will feature dinner, entertainment, special guests, and auction. Tickets can be reserved by phone: 615-364-9082.

Lawrence has been a passionate fundraiser supporting several non-profit charities that benefit the middle Tennessee area including, the “Mission Possible” Turkey Fry in November, benefiting the Nashville Rescue Mission and the “Tracy Lawrence Golf & Concert For A Cure,” raising funds for breast cancer awareness.
