Signs, Signs, Everywhere Are Signs (which don’t apply to LoCash Cowboys)

We live in a world saturated with warning signs telling us what we should or should not be doing. Most of the time they provide good advice. You can try to go all rebel-without-a-cause on a ‘do not cross’ sign at a busy road, but, if you like birthday cake, probably shouldn’t. And if you want to avoid the no-fly list, you best heed the ubiquitous ‘DO NOT’-signs with which our airports are wallpapered these days.

But what if you are at country music’s biggest party of the year where everyone just wants to have fun? What if a sign has appeared warning against something you happen to have fun doing; a sign put there partly because of your own earlier (mis)behavior?

If your name is Preston Brust, this is what you do:

First, you grab the sign that tells you not to do what you are about to do.
Those watching you get to enjoy the mortified look on the face of a nearby stage-hand as it dawns on him what you are planning, and he takes just a little too long to decide if he should intervene.

You start your ascent, taking a moment to make sure everyone around you has time to take in what the sign says. The stage-hand now nears panic as he realizes he missed his chance to stop you.

You then cheerfully reattach the sign at the very top because, you know, now people can see it better. You are just being helpful.

With the sign successfully relocated, you then finish the song you were in the middle of before you got yourself all the way up there. And, seeing as you normally like to dance around while you sing, there is no reason to abandon that habit just because you are about 25ft off the ground.

And finally, you return triumphantly to the stage, having endeared yourself to every person there who has a little bit of a rebellious streak (except for that stage-hand…).

All I have to say to this is:

“Way to go, dude!” *fist bump*

If you have already been to a LoCash Cowboys party, you could probably see this coming as soon as that sign went up the day before. If you want to get in on the fun, head over to www.locashcowboys.com to check out the tour dates.
