Single Review – ‘C’mon’ – Amber Hayes

Like many country artists, Amber Hayes has been on one stage or another since she was just a little kid. The experience stood her in good stead, getting her beauty pageants and talent contest alike. A few years ago, the Oklahoma native made the move to Nashville and landed the role of Kathy Twitty in the musical based on Conway Twitty‘s life. Now, Amber is promoting her new single, ‘C’mon,’ the title track taken from her new album.

On ‘C’mon,’ Amber is in a party mood. The girls in the song are out for a night of innocent fun, eyeing up cute boys and asking them to dance. It describes a great girls’ night out without falling back on unnecessary innuendo or the usual cliches about tailgates and cold beer.

Sung by a lesser vocalist, this song would have sounded forgettable but Amber lifts it to a higher level with her confident vocals. I’m not sure why, their voices aren’t similar, but this song reminded me of some of the songs Trisha Yearwood cut in the 1990s.

‘C’mon’ is a fun, cute and charming country song with a catchy chorus – a ready-made radio hit.

You can grab a free download of ‘C’mon’ from Amber’s website.
