Single Review: ‘Countryfied’ – Jared Blake

First, let’s talk about Jared’s voice. I’m a casual watcher of the voice and I vaguely remember when Jared Blake auditioned for the voice, however, I forgot how he sounded. I read his “about” section of his website and saw that the writers of this section compared his voice to Bob Seger and Travis Tritt with a mix of Chris Daughtry. I thought, no way. Way! Jared’s voice is a perfect mix of the gravely rocker voice and the smooth deep baritone of a country boy.

Jared’s first single to country radio, out June 24th is called ‘Countryfied.’ There are a lot of different ways this song could have gone, some of them very cliché, but it didn’t go that way. Jared sings his praise for a west coast girl who has forgotten the city lights and is now becoming ‘Countryfied.’

My favorite lyric in the song is “so she drags me out just the other night/gets drunk and starts a fight but not with me/I do believe that girl may be more country than me”

Be sure to check out ‘Countryfied’ on iTunes and call your local country radio station and request it today!
