One of the more obscure music charts is the Bubbling Under Hot 100 Singles chart, available to industry professionals via Billboard. The chart uses airplay and sales to track the songs that are on the verge of entering the main Billboard Hot 100 chart. It is of interest to the industry as it can help pinpoint ‘the next big thing’ or help predict chart potential for new singles of established acts.

For the last two weeks, Thomas Rhett‘s current single, ‘Beer with Jesus,’ has been sitting at the top, teetering on the brink of the main chart. While it may not be the kind of #1 for which BMI orders those shiny commemorative plaques, any #1 is worth celebrating. So I say congratulations to Thomas and his co-writers Rick Huckaby and Lance Miller!

Below is the chart’s current Top 10. Glimpsing some of the titles of the rap/R&B tracks, I am so glad I get to listen to country radio.
