While we are finally rid of the American Country Music Awards, we got another quite unnecessary award show in its place. This evening, the American Country Countdown Awards were handed out in Nashville, and it became a celebration, and perhaps farewell party, for the dudebro music which ruled this year’s charts.
Jason Aldean was crowned Artist of the Year, while Luke Bryan and Florida Georgia Line took home three awards each.
But these awards really made no sense. By what metric do you nominate Lady Antebellum as Artist of the Year but then exclude Miranda Lambert?
