The CMA Songwriters Series returns once again to New York City’s Joe’s Pub on Wednesday, May 9 (6:30 and 9:00 PM/ET). Tickets for this popular series are on sale now.

Featuring two-time CMA Award nominee Phil Vassar, the CMA Songwriters Series allows music fans insight into the stories behind some of their favorite songs.

“These Songwriter Series events are not only great for the fans, it’s a real blast to get up there with your friends, tell stories and laugh like idiots!” Vassar said. “I’m really looking forward to bringing a little Country to the city.”

Vassar has written and recorded hits such as “Carlene,” “Just Another Day in Paradise,” “That’s When I Love You” and his latest, “Don’t Miss Your Life.” He has also penned hits for other artists including “Bye, Bye” recorded by Jo Dee Messina, “My Next Thirty Years” recorded by Tim McGraw, and “Right On the Money” recorded by Alan Jackson.

Joining Vassar will be Al Anderson (“The Cowboy In Me” recorded by Tim McGraw, “All You Ever Do is Bring Me Down” recorded by The Mavericks, and “Powerful Thing” recorded by Trisha Yearwood), and Craig Wiseman (“Hillbilly Bone” recorded by Blake Shelton and Trace Adkins, “Live Like You Were You Dying” recorded by Tim McGraw, and “She’s Got It All” recorded by Kenny Chesney). Bob DiPiero (“Southern Voice” recorded by Tim McGraw, “Blue Clear Sky” recorded by George Strait, and “You Can’t Take the Honky Tonk Out of the Girl” recorded by Brooks & Dunn) will serve as host for the evening.
