On May 14, George Strait will release his 40th studio album titled, Love Is Everything. Strait once again worked together with producer Tony Brown to bring 13 new songs to life. The project’s lead single, ‘Give it All We Got Tonight,’ has already reached the top 10 and is still climbing. Three of the tracks were co-written by Strait with his son Bubba Strait and hit songwriter Dean Dillon, and Strait also contributed the track ‘I Just Can’t Go On Dying Like This,’ which he wrote by himself.

The press release has some bullet points on Strait’s astonishing career achievements:

  • George Strait has sold more than 68.5 million records and counting. With 33 different platinum or multi-platinum albums, he’s earned the second most certifications of any artist in any genre, following only Elvis Presley. With a total of 59, George Strait has more No. 1 songs than any other artist in history (including Elvis).
  • Strait’s newest single, “Give It All We Got Tonight,” is currently in the Top 10 on the country charts and is poised to be the hit- maker’s 60th career No. 1. Fans can tweet and Instagram their support with hashtag #60for60, as well as share posts on Facebook.
  • Love Is Everything, Strait’s 40th album on longtime label home MCA Nashville, is due in stores May 14, 2013.
  • In Oct. 2011, Strait celebrated his first No. 1 as a songwriter with the debut single from his album of the same name “Here For A Good Time”- he wrote the song with his son Bubba (also his first No. 1 as a songwriter) and legendary songwriter Dean Dillon. On Love Is Everything, Strait again has co-written with Dillon on three tracks.
  • Strait announced he will use 2013-2014 for his final official tour – The Cowboy Rides Away Tour. With his hometown of San Antonio, Texas standing as the only remaining date on June 1, 2013, Strait has so far experienced record attendance and sold-out shows at ALL of his 20 previous tour stops, including topping 80,000 at the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo.
  • The Ace in the Hole band formed in 1975. Original members include mainstays Terry Hale (bass), Mike Daily (steel guitar) and Tommy Foote (then drummer, now road manager). Rondal Huckaby (keyboards), Benny McArthur (guitar/fiddle), Gene Elders (fiddle), Rick McRae (guitar), and Mike Kennedy (drums) all joined in the early ’80s and have been with the band for 20-to-25 years.
