Live from CMA Fest 2012: Kip Moore

The new-to-me performance I was most looking forward to during CMA Fest 2012 was finally watching Kip Moore play live. I have long wanted to make plans to do so, especially after hearing his immensely strong debut album, Up All Night. Despite the morning time slot, after having recently enjoyed a two-week stay at #1 with ‘Somethin’ ’bout a Truck,’ many people seemed eager to watch him too, and he arrived ready to party with the country fans crowded in front of the Chevrolet Riverfront stage. Given what I think of Up All Night, I expected to enjoy this performance but, better than that, I was left supremely impressed by Moore’s half-hour set. He knows exactly what to do with an appreciative audience, how to win over new fans, and can pretty seriously rock out too.

Moore packed as much as he could into his time slot. He introduced his new single, ‘Drive Me Crazy,’ and got the place dancing to ‘Somethin’ ’bout a Truck,’ and even facilitated a marriage proposal ahead of the tremendous ‘Hey, Pretty Girl.’

If you still needed a suggestion as to who to go see this summer, I can highly recommend checking out the nearest Kip Moore show! I know I already look forward to watching a full show at my earliest opportunity. Head over to www.kipmoore.net for all the dates and details (and pick up a copy of Up All Night while you’re there!).

Check out the performance of the new single, ‘Drive Me Crazy,’ and some shots from the show.
