MARTINA MCBRIDE FANS WERE HEARD LOUD AND CLEAR
AT THIS YEAR’S CMA MUSIC FESTIVAL

Live Recording of “Wrong Baby Wrong” Released to Country Radio Today

NASHVIILLE, TENN. (June 21, 2010) — The CMA Music Festival held each year in the famous Music City, USA has traditionally been an event where authentic country music fans are placed in the spotlight – a time when the fans’ voices are heard as loud as those performing.  Even more so this year, when Martina McBride hit the stage during a sold out show at LP Field, it wasn’t her illustrious vocals that dominated but the resounding celebratory roar of the crowd that overpowered the sound system. The audience spoke clearly at the 2010 event – Martina McBride is one of the most beloved voices of country music today.

“As unlikely as it seems, it was hard to hear her vocals over the crowd’s cheering,” says Chris Parton of CMT.comThe Tennessean’s Cindy Watts wrote, “It doesn’t matter who takes home the trophies on award show night — country music fans are still in love with Martina McBride.”

“I absolutely love to sing and be on stage and when the crowd is that passionate and enthusiastic it just makes the show even better,” admits Martina. “I know it sounds cliché but it’s magical when fans show such an outpouring of love for what I do. On tour, it’s an experience I never get tired of or ever take for granted. I am so lucky to get to do this for a living.”

Fans will also get the chance to remember the night as RCA Nashville is releasing a special live version of her current single, “Wrong Baby Wrong,” captured during her LP Field performance. This audio clip is courtesy of the Country Music Association.  Fans who were there and fans who missed it will have the opportunity to hear this one-of-a-kind recording on their local radio station nationwide.

Martina also participated in her annual YWCA auction during the festival.  The auction brought in an incredible $102,289.00, a 29% increase over last year.  Martina, who has hosted the charity auction since 1995, had the highest bid of the day, pulling in $11,000 each for two identical handwritten, autographed and framed lyrics for “She’s a Butterfly,” written by Big Kenny who was there with her to auction the pieces  – bringing in a total of $22,000.

CMA Music Festival isn’t the only place fans showed support for Martina. It was recently announced that she was nominated for Female Country Artist by the fan voted Teen Choice Awards.  The Awards will be televised on FOX on Monday, August 9 at 8:00 pm eastern.
