Randy Houser released his Stoney Creek Records debut, How Country Feels, today. The album arrives just as the lead single, the title track, hits #1 on the Mediabase singles chart. The song also had the honor of being the first song to be played on Nash FM 94-7, New York City’s brand new radio station, the first terrestrial station in NYC for 17 years.

Houser has always had a good ear for picking outside songs and continues this on the new album. “We really weren’t greedy on this record,” he said in the press release. “The album begins with the song my buddy Dallas Davidson wrote [‘Runnin’ Outta Moonlight’], and 15 tracks later it ends with the most personal song I’ve ever written [‘Route 3 Box 250D’]. It means a lot to me to have this many songs on one record to share with the fans.”

Houser also included song written with, or by, other Music Row greats such as Ashley Gorley, Kelley Lovelace, Brett James, Neil Thrasher, Wendell Mobley, Vicky McGehee, Rhett Akins, and Ben Hayslip.

How Country Feels track list:

1. ‘Runnin’ Outta Moonlight’     (Dallas Davidson, Ashley Gorley, Kelley Lovelace)
2. ‘Growin’ Younger’     (Randy Houser, Brett James, Justin Weaver)

The rest of the news release reads:

How Country Feels was produced by Houser’s long-time friend, Derek George, who also hails from his home state of Mississippi. “I told Derek when I first moved to town that if I ever had the chance to achieve a little bit of success, I’d make sure he produced one of my records. Having him on this project gave me the freedom to truly express who I am as both an artist and a person. Derek just ‘gets’ me, and he understands where I come from. He was able to bring to life all of my musical inspirations on one record… and I think my vision has never come across more accurately than it has on How Country Feels,” says Houser.

Broken Bow Records and Stoney Creek Records CEO Benny Brown attests to Houser’s vocal talent on the album, saying “Randy is widely recognized by the industry as one of the best voices in Country Music…combine that with great songs and Derek George’s production and you have a very special project. We can’t wait for listeners to hear this album!”
