Drummer Cactus Moser will be honored during the 13th Annual Pathways ‘Matters of the Heart’ Golf Challenge and Gala Weekend, which will take place on October 11 – 12 in Dallas, TX. The musician lost his left leg after a horrific crash just three months into his marriage to country star Wynonna.

Further details are in the press release:

Two years ago, a tragic motorcycle accident left serious doubts that well-known drummer Cactus Moser would ever walk again, much less play the instrument that made him famous. Eleven weeks after his marriage to Country Music Superstar Wynonna Judd, Moser was involved in a near fatal crash that costs him his left leg and severely damaged his left hand.

But with a determined spirit and the encouragement of his wife, Moser not only walked again but within six months was back behind the drums when Wynonna kicked off her 2011 Christmas tour.

Moser is being honored during the 13th Annual Pathways “Matters of the Heart” Golf Challenge and Gala Weekend, set for October 11 and 12 at the Four Seasons Las Colinas in Dallas. The weekend festivities benefits Pathways’ Military Family Fund, Special Needs Family Fund and the General Fund. For information, call 972-791-0337 or visit www.createagreatlife.org/gala.

“His remarkable recovery has been an inspiration to so many,” said Debbie Wright, Executive Director of Pathways. “Prior to his accident, Cactus and Wynonna were known as strong supporters of our Military families. Through his rehab experience, they have become deeply touched by the challenges of our service men and women returning from deployments with similar injuries.”

Moser and his wife will appear at the Gala on Saturday. Also on hand will be multi-Grammy award winner Gordon Kennedy, writer of the song of the year, “Change The World” (Eric Clapton), and Dove Award winner Mike Farris.

Meanwhile, the 13th Annual Pathways “Matters of the Heart” Golf Challenge kicks off the weekend with a four-player Scramble golf tournament at the famed TPC Four Seasons Las Colinas, home of the HP Byron Nelson Championship.

Pathways has literally changed the lives of thousands of North Texans as well as people of all races, religions and walks of life from all over the world. For over 30 years, Dallas has been the only location and very busy hub of this life-changing training for individuals. Most participants hear about Pathways through word-of-mouth or by personal contact within their own sphere of influence after witnessing the changed life of a previous participant.

Proceeds from the Matters of the Heart weekend will benefit scholarship funds which help families attend Pathways trainings to learn how to communicate and to create a life by design, not default. These funds help Military families who face the invisible wounds of war and special needs parents who experience freedom from limiting beliefs and the real joy they can have with their child. Funds also help families attend Pathways Empowered Parenting and Teen Family Camp through the Pathways Family Fund.

Pathways is a non-profit corporation that is the successor to the training created in 1985 by TV Talk Show Host and National best selling author, Dr. Phillip C McGraw, who crafted the powerful self-help seminars titled Pathways. The hands-on training doesn’t focus on “why” something happened but rather the fact that it “did” happen. Participants learn to prevent past experiences from influencing the present and limiting their future. Pathways is designed for individuals to take a break from the external demands of life and focus inwardly.
